Saw a swift dangling head down from the eve of a roof today flapping non-stop in an attempt to escape whatever it was tangled with. Five minutes of sign language and some minor trespassing later, we had the bird in hand, performing surgery with a box knife to remove the string. Exhaustion had him sitting in my hand for a good minute before he decided he was ready to cruise. On climbout he barely cleared a fence and limped around the corner.

Epic journey between Orlando and Munich with more glider drama than I ever managed to endure on any other trip. The wings are finally on the car and Tim and I are cruising the countryside on our way to Laragne after dropping Jamie off to visit Carl.
