bird

Saw a swift dangling head down from the eve of a roof today flapping non-stop in an attempt to escape whatever it was tangled with. Five minutes of sign language and some minor trespassing later, we had the bird in hand, performing surgery with a box knife to remove the string. Exhaustion had him sitting in my hand for a good minute before he decided he was ready to cruise. On climbout he barely cleared a fence and limped around the corner.

Your priorities haven't changed since we were kids...always rescuing helpless birds...what would they do without you???
